Under my guidance, the project participated in the FPT Edu Color Up 2024 competition with the theme "Heritage and Technology" and successfully won second place.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

The Ok Om Bok Festival and Ghe Ngo boat race of the Khmer people, recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage in 2015, is a profound source of pride, embodying the unique cultural and spiritual values of the Khmer community. To preserve and promote this precious heritage, the project calls for community support to help sustain and share the beauty of this traditional culture with future generations.

HEAD OF DESIGN

As a mentor, I will provide comprehensive support to the team throughout the project. From guiding the initial concept, conducting in-depth research on the cultural values of the Ok Om Bok Festival and Ghe Ngo boat race, to applying technology to highlight the beauty of these traditions. I will help the team develop a detailed plan while encouraging creativity and individual contributions from each member. Additionally, I will connect the team with resources and experts to maximize project support, ensuring the final product is well-crafted and delivers a powerful message to the community.

My team has a unique characteristic: all members are working professionals, which makes time management quite challenging. In my role, I will take responsibility for organizing and scheduling time effectively. I will plan and coordinate meetings, activities, and key milestones of the project to fit with the members' schedules. Additionally, I will assist in managing tasks and ensure that everyone can contribute effectively without being overwhelmed by their daily work commitments.

 The camaraderie and happiness we share during our collaborative efforts make every challenge worthwhile.

As we approached the final days leading up to the competition, our emotions were a mix of excitement and exhaustion due to the overwhelming amount of work we still had to complete. However, our dedication to preserving the cultural heritage of a small community in the Mekong Delta kept us motivated. We deeply believe in the importance of sharing our journey to safeguard this heritage and in exploring how technology can play a pivotal role in ensuring that no group is left behind.

Our project is not only focused on maintaining the rich traditions and cultural values of this community but also on using technological solutions to reach and connect with every member. We believe technology can help us spread the message far and wide, offering tools and opportunities for even those in the most remote areas to engage and benefit from these preservation efforts. Through this, we aim to not only protect cultural heritage but also foster a more connected and sustainable community for the future.

When our project reached the finals, we were required to prepare a space to present our work. This is a crucial opportunity for us to showcase our efforts and creativity, as well as to convey our message about preserving cultural heritage and utilizing technology to connect with the community. We will work diligently to design an impressive display area to capture attention and leave a strong impression on the judges and audience.

Afterward, before the official presentation takes place, the judges will have time to visit and evaluate our work. This is an opportunity for them to directly experience and assess everything we have prepared, from the exhibition space to the project’s products and ideas. This preview is crucial, as it allows the judges to gain a deeper understanding of our creativity and efforts, helping them make a more informed decision about the competition results.

After a long and stressful day, it was finally time for our presentation. Despite our exhaustion, we gave our best effort to showcase everything we had worked on. Our report made a strong impression on the judges, thanks to our meticulous preparation and the relentless efforts of the entire team. We felt proud and satisfied with what we had accomplished and hoped that our hard work would be recognized and valued.

And here is our presentation. Although I was very nervous, I made sure to encourage and support the team throughout the process.

And the result was truly incredible—we achieved second place. This achievement is a testament to the hard work and relentless effort of the entire team. We were thrilled and felt that our dedication had been rewarded.

As a mentor, I was deeply moved to see the growth and development of the team members throughout the competition. I believe that a truly meaningful design is one that is not only visually appealing but also serves a clear purpose and provides tangible value to society. Witnessing the team overcome challenges, learn, and grow has been an invaluable experience. I hope that our work will not only inspire the next generation but also encourage them to pursue creativity with dedication and responsibility, ultimately creating designs that positively impact the community and society.
